On November 15, 2011, Coach Mike Krzyzewski claimed his 903rd win as a head coach in college basketball. This record was previously set by long-time Indiana University coach Bob Knight. Throughout coach "K"'s career, many people have claimed he cheats, recruits players, and buys things for them. No matter what, 903 wins is still a very large goal to set.

In my opinion, Coach Krzyzewski has set a record that may never be beat in college basketball history. What he has done is simply amazing. Throughout the past years, I have stayed up to date on all of his "cheating" accusations and believe all of them to be false. If a coach is good enough to hit 903 victories, why do you think he needs to recruit his players. If I were a high-school basketball player, I would want to go to Duke to play for a coach as gifted and as talented as Coach "K." So plain and simple, all of these accusations should be thrown out. He is one of the best and will never be stopped.
I agree Kyle. The claims that are being made about the coach seem to be out of pure jealousy by other coaches. To me, 903 wins is a lot, but that does not necessarily mean he cheated to get that number of wins. Its an accomplishment and should be recognized for the merit that goes with this. This goal will be an interesting one to try and beat in the future.

Though I believe Coach K has never and will never cheat, with all of the recruiting scandals and such that have been revealed in the past years, I would not be suprised if Coach K had some minor faults. But then again, I believe Coach K has never and will never cheat. It is amazing how one can reach 903 wins, and he seems like he has alot more coming. I believe he has at least 10+ more years left in him. Even though I do not like Duke a whole lot, if I had the oppurtunity to play there, I would go in a heartbeat. Playing for such and elite coach would be, well, awesome. This record that he has set will be one the will be held for quite a long time.
ReplyDeleteCoach K is one of the greatest examples of how one should accpt greatness. He does it in a polite manner and likes little attention. Coach K is of course one of the greatest NCAA coaches of all time, and is my favorite NCAA basketball coach. As much as I hate staying up late on school nights, I stilwill still stay up late to watch the Bluedevils dominate another team. Coach K's accusations of cheating are absolute lies in my opinion. He is a great coach who deeply cares about the game, the school, and yes, of course, his team!
